Without explanation, Fox News announced the departure of its traditional host, Tucker Carlson. Sources claim that the decision came directly from Fox Corp, Chairman Rupert Murdoch, Fox Corp. executives, and board members.
Carlson’s exit is linked to a discrimination lawsuit filed against the network by Abby Grossberg, a producer fired by the network. Carlson’s executive producer, Justin Wells, was also terminated.
Antisemitism & Bullying Lawsuit Linked To Carlson’s Exit From Show
The lawsuit alleges Grossberg was bullied and subjected to antisemitic statements when moved to Tucker Carlson Tonight. Attorneys for Grossberg mean that her suit was a factor in Carlson’s exit.
According to sources, the lawsuit may have led to Carlson’s departure, but the coverage of the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol also concerned Murdoch.
Carlson advanced the theory that government representatives provoked it. Starting Monday, Carlson’s 8 p.m. Eastern time slot will be served by rotating Fox News personalities until a new host is named.
