Shakira has expressed her feelings toward her former husband’s new romantic interest in a recently released song. The Colombian singer refers to Clara Chía Martí as “my supposed replacement.”
Unlike Shakira, Clara is not as well-known in the public sphere, and it is believed that she worked for Gerard Piqué when they first met. Clara is 23 years old and has been seen with Piqué in public.
She is said to work for Piqué’s television production company and is reportedly studying public relations in Barcelona.
The couple was recently seen together at a festival in Spain. Not much is known about Clara, except that she is the first woman publicly linked to Piqué since his high-profile split from Shakira.
In a new song released recently, Shakira opens up about her split from her former husband, Gerard Piqué, and addresses his new partner, Clara Chía Martí. Among the most notable differences between the two women is their age.
Shakira references Clara’s age in the song, stating she is ” 22-year-olds”. The lyrics make comparisons that suggest Shakira believes Piqué has downgraded in his new relationship, comparing a Ferrari to a Twingo and a Rolex to a Casio.
Interestingly, Piqué, known for his sarcastic tone, recently announced that the King’s League, a sporting event he created, has signed an agreement with Casio.
Shakira’s recent song not only references the age difference between her and Clara Chía Martí but also refers to Clara as “mi supuesto reemplazo” or “my supposed replacement.” This suggests that Shakira believes Clara to be filling her shoes as Piqué’s partner.
The Split Between Shakira & Piqué
The split between Shakira and Piqué was announced in June 2022, with a statement released by the Colombian singer stating their desire for privacy and respect for their children.
As of yet, Clara Chía Martí has not made a statement regarding the song or the situation. However, Piqué has commented on it humorously during an appearance on the Kings League Twitch account. He joked about the references to Twingo, and Casio.
Piqué’s father also joined in on the humor, changing his WhatsApp profile picture to a scene from the movie Dances with Wolves, seemingly about Shakira’s nickname “loba” (wolf in Spanish).
