Peter William Krause came into the world on August 12, 1965, in Alexandria, Minnesota. He was raised in Roseville by his parents, Wanda Marie Krause (née Johnson) and William Popham “Bill” Krause.
Krause has two siblings, Amy and Michael, and grew up in a supportive and educational environment. He attended Alexander Ramsey High School in Roseville, Minnesota, and graduated in 1983.
While at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Krause initially pursued a pre-medical degree, but his love for acting was discovered in his junior year, leading him to change his major to English Literature.
Throughout college, he was heavily involved in theater, performing in productions such as Paul Sills’ Story Theatre, Caryl Churchill’s Cloud 9, and Harold Pinter’s The Dumb Waiter, solidifying his passion for acting.
