Tackett went on to win his 11th PBA title on July 29, 2018, partnering with female professional bowler Liz Johnson to earn the Storm PBA/PWBA Striking Against Breast Cancer Mixed Doubles championship in Houston, Texas.
Despite being a finalist for the 2018 PBA Player of the Year award, Tackett ultimately lost to Andrew Anderson, who took the award.
Tackett’s winning streak continued in 2017. He captured his sixth PBA Tour title by winning the opening event on January 14 at the DHC PBA Japan Invitational.

He then went on to gain his second major and seventh PBA title overall at the FireLake PBA Tournament of Champions on February 19 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Tackett added to his success by winning the inaugural Main Event PBA Tour Finals on May 20, where he emerged as the #2 seed after the round-robin and group step ladder matches, ultimately defeating the #1 seed Jason Belmonte in the final three-game series.
