Ty Jerome’s parents are Mark Jerome and Melanie Walker. However, Ty Jerome, an American professional basketball player, was born on July 8, 1997.
He now shares a two-way contract with the Santa Cruz National Basketball Association G League and the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
He played basketball for the Virginia Cavaliers, where he started as point guard for their 2019 national championship squad, before becoming a pro.
The Philadelphia 76ers selected Jerome first overall in the 2019 NBA Draft; however, he was later traded to the Phoenix Suns.

Ty Jerome’s parents are Mark Jerome and Melanie Walker. Unfortunately, not much is known about his parents. However, Jerome enrolled at New Rochelle, New York’s Iona Preparatory School, after four years of varsity basketball.
He received first-team All-Conference, All-Metropolitan, and All-State honors for his efforts during his junior season.
Unfortunately, a hip ailment cut short his senior year. On September 2, 2014, he decided to play college basketball for the University of Virginia.
Ty Jerome’s Career
During his first season at Virginia, Jerome filled in as the backup point guard, averaging 4.3 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists.
In his sophomore year, he was promoted to point guard and was named to the All-ACC Third Team. He was chosen for the preseason All-ACC Second Team before the 2018–2019 campaign and was one of the ten nominees for the Bob Cousy Award.
In the final game, where Virginia won 85-77, Jerome had 16 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds. He also helped Virginia secure another #1 seed in the NCAA tournament. After the season, he declared for the 2019 NBA draft and hired an agency.
On June 20, 2019, Jerome was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers as the 24th overall pick. He was subsequently traded to the Boston Celtics along with Philadelphia’s 33rd choice in exchange for the draft rights of Matisse Thybulle.
He was then dealt with Aron Baynes to the Phoenix Suns for a future first-round choice. It’s interesting to note that Tony Bennett recruited Baynes and Jerome out of high school to play collegiate basketball at Washington State and Virginia, respectively.
The Suns signed Jerome on July 6, but before the season began, he sprained his right ankle on October 21 and was sidelined indefinitely.
On November 25, he was assigned to the Northern Arizona Suns, where he played one game before being called back to Phoenix on November 27.
He was once more assigned to Northern Arizona on November 29 for a matchup with the Sioux Falls Skyforce before being called to Phoenix the following day.
What Happened On December 2, 2019?
On December 2, 2019, Jerome participated in his debut NBA game, scoring four points, dishing out four assists, pulling down three rebounds, and making three steals in 12 minutes as the Phoenix Suns defeated the Charlotte Hornets. He had a season-high 15 points on December 21 against the Houston Rockets, a defeat.
He was assigned to the Oklahoma City Blue to rehab from a significant left ankle injury after being dealt to the Oklahoma City Thunder on November 16, 2020.
On February 26, 2021, Jerome made his Thunder debut. On April 8, 2021, he outscored the Cleveland Cavaliers by a career-high 23 points.
On March 8, 2022, he suffered season-ending groin surgery. On September 30, 2022, Jerome was traded to the Houston Rockets.
However, he was released the next day. On October 4, 2022, the Golden State Warriors signed him, and he later signed a two-way contract to play for the NBA G League’s Santa Cruz Warriors.
