Scott Raymond Adams is an American writer and artist born June 8, 1957. He writes various factual works of humor, commentary, industry, and the amusing syndicated strip Dilbert.
During the American downsizing generation of the 1990s, Dilbert rose to national fame and designed a multinational following.
Before turning to cartoons full-time in 1995, Adams held several positions in the business world. He describes the social and psychological environment of working-class whites in contemporary organizations in a humorous and frequently caustic manner.
