News just in that Spotify is collaborating with the famous New York studios Electric Lady for new Spotify EP series named live at an electric lady. The series will feature many artists, among which Patti Smith, Japanese Breakfast, and Jon Batiste are some famous names. The EP will also feature releases by Remi Wolf, Bleachers, Dominic Fike, Natalie Bergman, and Faye Webster.
The first EP will be from the jazz pianist, and musician Jon batiste Which he recorded along with jazz wonders Kenny Garrett, Gary Bartz, Joe Saylor, and Ron Carter. and will air on July 29th. As quoted by Japanese breakfast in a statement, “It was an absolute dream to get to record at the Electric lady.”
Electric lady, located in New York Greenwich Village, is the oldest recording studio facility in the North East, and it has recorded for The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, David Bowie, The Clash, and several others. The Electric lady was founded and designed by Jimi Hendrix in 1970. It has been a symbol of excellence ever since.
The general manager at Electric lady, Lee foster commented, “The idea for ‘Live at Electric Lady’ dates back to as early as the mid-’70s, done typically for various radio stations throughout the years. This, however, is the first time that it’s had a dedicated partner and a concrete plan forward. Having Spotify, its staff, and its know-how has given us the big engine we needed to make this program a success. The Spotify relationship is a big step forward in our evolution and we look forward to being a great partner to them for many years to come.”
