Recently, a video of Cowboys Hall of Famer Michael Irvin’s alleged unwanted advances towards a Marriott employee at the Phoenix Marriott Hotel has surfaced. The video was shown at a news conference without audio or clear facial images.
It shows Irvin entering with multiple people and then talking to a Marriott employee at the bar. The employee alleges that Irvin made sexually inappropriate comments.
Another employee is seen clapping his hands and then touching his hips. The conversation continues into the lobby and lasts for about two minutes. Irvin touches the woman’s arm twice during the conversation. Irvin’s lawyer claims they were joking, but what was said is unclear.
Irvin Made Unwelcome Sexual Advances Toward A Female Employee
Marriott claims that Irvin made unwelcome sexual advances toward a female employee and appeared visibly intoxicated at the Renaissance Phoenix Hotel.
Marriott alleges Irvin asked a lewd question about intercourse with a Black man during a conversation with the female staffer. Irvin denies saying that and says that he does not speak like that.
Marriott claims that Irvin leered at the woman and made a sexual remark, then slapped himself in the face three times.
The surveillance video shows Irvin slapping himself. Irvin’s legal team has refiled his $100 million defamation lawsuit against Marriott and a hotel employee, moving the case from Texas to Arizona.
Despite the video’s release, Russell Wilson, an attorney not associated with the case, says this remains a “he said, she said” case. Wilson says that most civil lawsuits end in a settlement. Irvin misses the people he works with and is unsure if or when he will return.
