After over a decade since leaving the original show, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola has reunited with her ex-castmates in the movie “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,” as announced by MTV on Saturday.
The news was shared on social media via a photo of Giancola modeling on a head with a bang mic and camera in the structure, apparently filming a confessional.
Giancola, now 35, also confirmed the news by reposting the same photo to her Instagram Stories and Twitter.
Fans were thrilled about the reality star’s highly anticipated return and expressed their excitement on social media.
It has been over ten years since Giancola last appeared on “Jersey Shore.” She starred in the original drama with Mike Farley, Nicole, Pauly “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio, Angelina Pivarnick, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, and Deena Nicole Cortese.
The show ran from 2009 to 2012 before MTV rebooted it in 2018, without Giancola, as “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.”
Giancola’s Ex-Boyfriend Ortiz-Magro
Giancola’s ex-boyfriend Ortiz-Magro had previously appeared in the new series but announced a break from the show in May 2021 due to mental health issues and legal troubles.
Some of the cast members have been wanting Giancola to come back for years. Polizzi said they had previously tried to get her back, but she refused, saying she would never return. However, they continued to reach out to her, hoping she would eventually change her mind.
In March 2018, Giancola explained on Instagram that she had no desire to participate in “Family Vacation,” citing her happiness and the potential for a negative environment.
Fans of the show eagerly anticipate Giancola’s return, as many feel that the program is incomplete without her. You can catch “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” on MTV every Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
