George Santos, a New York lawmaker, sent invitations to a wedding reception in 2014 to commemorate his proposal of marriage to his lover.
At the time, he was reportedly legally wedded.
“Good evening to all! As you may probably be aware, Pedro and I decided to become toothbrushes! We’ve chosen Lol and a limited group of friends to experience this amazing occasion with us!” .
According to the site, the invitation asked attendees to join Santos and his alleged fiancée for dinner on Sunday at La Bonne Soupe in New York City.
Santos Used A Winking Emoji
Santos used a winking emoji to write, “I hope to see all [sic] of you and to be sharp & make it count.” “Thank you for sharing such an important day with us! Let’s hang up there.”
According to Vilarva, Santos’ offers were rebuffed, and the wedding reception “never occurred.”
Vilarva texted, “He asked me three times, but I won’t acknowledge it.” “No party or anything related to it was ever held.”
Santos remained wed to his ex-wife, Uadla Santos, on the scheduled ceremony date.
The Pair Split In 2019
The pair split in 2019, just weeks after Santos announced his 2020 candidature.
The information seemed to undermine Santos’ assertions that he has been “openly gay” for many years.
He had not before revealed he was wedded to a woman.
Santos has come under increasing pressure to leave due to allegations that he misrepresented his educational background and professional experience.
He engaged in drag queen performances in the past, an accusation he has refuted and hid his true religious convictions by pretending to be “Jew-ish.”
