It appears that Gene Simmons is not a fan of “modern-day Dave.”
In an interview, Simmons commented that the lead singer of Van Halen, David, will not support KISS any longer. He also added that during Dave’s peak success days, no one else did what he did.
Simmons commented that at one time, Roth was the conclusive frontman of the band, & no one else was like him, not even Rod Stewart or Robert plant, but Roth took being a frontman to far different levels. He then added that Roth is no longer the lead vocalist & his peak days are over.
“I don’t know what happened to him… something. And you get modern-day Dave,”
said Simmons.
Simmons also added that he’d prefer thinking about Elvis Presley in his peak time; he had sneering lips back in the band.
After these comments, Roth took to his Instagram and shared a black and white picture of a child showing a middle finger up. He shared that post 18 times, and it read “Roth to Simmons.”
It seems like Roth was pretty offended by Simmons’s insulting comments & he showed it publicly. KISS has announced its second residency in Nevada city.
