In addition to her profession as an artist, Grant has shared her knowledge and expertise with students through her work as a college professor.
Her first teaching position was as a professor at the ArtCenter College of Design in California, where she worked between 2009 to 2011. During her tenure there, she also taught an MFA seminar at Cal Northridge in 2010.
Grant then served as a mentor in the Distance MFA program at the Pacific Northwest College of Art from 2013 to 2014. She later continued her role as an educator at Syracuse University in 2015.

Having been close friends for a long time, Alexandra and Reeves have collaborated professionally on multiple projects.
In 2011, they jointly published Ode to Happiness, a picture book aimed at adults featuring Alexandra Grant’s illustrations and text by Reeves.
This project was significant for being their first collaboration and marking Alexandra Grant’s artist-book debut and Reeves’ written-work debut.
In 2016, the duo teamed up again for another project, Shadows. The book showcases a collection of 54 images, all photographed by Alexandra Grant, that capture Reeves’ movements.
In an interview with the LAT, Grant described Reeves as an “extreme performer” and praised his unique ability to move.

In 2017, Grant and Reeves established X Artists’ Books, a publishing house that aims to create artist-centered books of exceptional quality that bridge genres.

Grant revealed on her Instagram that she is authorized to officiate weddings and has already done so for a couple of friends in the summer of 2019. She has also been a bridesmaid for seven weddings.
However, despite her wedding involvement, Grant has her perspective on marriage. “Love at level is important to my identity,” she shared in an interview before jokingly evading the question of her views on marriage.
“I do not believe that sequestration is the way,” she added. “There is a stretch of seclusion that I do as a painter, but I value the experience of being in relationships.”

Grant founded the grantLOVE project in 2008, a charitable initiative that raises money for artist projects and non-profit arts organizations by creating and selling original artwork.
Per her website, the project has supported various organizations, including Heart of LA (HOLA), Project Angel Food, Art of Elysium, 18th Street Arts, and LAXART.
Moreover, her artworks have been showcased at institutions such as MOCA (Los Angeles), the Hammer Museum, and the Art Gallery of Ontario.
