The 54-year-old celebrity chef is renovating his home in South West London and converting his four bedrooms to create a giant master bedroom with two en suites. Gordon Ramsay has finally been permitted to build a huge basement with a super master bedroom and a luxury wine store in his London mansion, which has a worth of approximately £7 million.
His master bedroom will require the whole entry level of the house and come with a walk-in dressing room with an area larger than the master bedroom itself.
Apart from his super master bedroom, Gordon will also have space for another bedroom, a study, a boot room, a plant room, and a shower room. It is, however, unknown whether Ramsey will use the other bedroom for guests or housekeeping members. This luxurious basement is designed to have a glass well in between so that the property can have access to natural light. This extensive property but also some demolishing to add a modern glass design extension will be installed in his living room, dining room, and open plan kitchen.
The Wandsworth council has given this large-scale refurb approval, according to which 76 square meters will be added to the home, and the project will start in 2022 and will likely be completed in more than a year.
According to Ramsey’s House plan, the second floor will also be renovated, and the entry on the basement levels. According to the source, The Super chef has already pre-warned his neighbors of the building works to be started.
His architects from Quartet architecture have explained in their design statement,
Meetings have been held with the owners to discuss the proposals, and no adverse comments have been received.
It has also been stated that Ramsey’s renovation aims to “create a functional layout throughout the house, allowing for greater room sizes while optimizing living accommodation and opportunities on the site.”
This refurbishing will give Gordon “a modern environment to live, designed, and built to the higher standards ensuring longevity and efficiency,” as it claims.
