Jack Teixeira Early life
Teixeira was raised in North Dighton, Massachusetts, by his stepfather, Tom Dufault, a retired master sergeant in the United States Air Force, and his stepbrother, Alex Dufault, who worked at Joint Base Cape Cod.

The server’s members frequently played the open-world video game Project Zomboid, and Teixeira became its administrator, sharing weapons with other members.

After finishing high school, Teixeira enlisted as a Cyber Transport Systems journeyman in the 102nd Intelligence Wing of the Massachusetts Air National Guard in September 2019.
Teixeira worked at Otis Air National Guard Base in Cape Cod. In July 2022, he got promoted to airman first class, which would have given him a higher level of security clearance because of his job.

Teixeira frequently disseminated classified information through the online chat service Discord in a server named “Thug Shaker Central.”
He would extract this information from documents he had access to. However, as the other server members gradually lost interest in the content, Teixeira resorted to taking pictures of the classified documents instead.
