And there is no shortage of names who have committed some of the most gruesome crimes in the history of this planet – and all of them were manipulative.
That’s because a serial killer or an equally heinous criminal has to be manipulative. Otherwise, they cannot deal with the people and therefore lure them in.
So they have to act in a civilized way to trick them into believing that they are just like them when it’s certainly not the case.

John Wayne Gacy was not someone you would call dependent or a helpless invalid. Instead, he was a functioning member of society. He was a very hard worker who managed three franchises of KFC’s famous fast-food brand.
All of them were owned by his father-in-law.
In addition, John Wayne Gacy also likes to raise his hand when it comes to volunteering. Around this time, his wife, Marlynn Myers, welcomed Michael, a newborn son. This was in February 1966.
A year after Michael, the family welcomed a daughter who was named Christine Gacy. She was born in March 1967. This was a fairly peaceful time for John Wayne Gacy, which he would also describe as “perfect.”
However, John Wayne Gacy was charged with a sex offense and was given an 18-month stay at Anamosa State Penitentiary. At this point, the man’s wife filed for a divorce and was granted custody of both Michael and Christine Gacy.

Some sources say that John Wayne Gacy’s Kids never got to see him again. After being sent to a subsequent 18-month stay, Gacy completed his stay and got out. The first thing he did was marry Carole Hoff.
The couple didn’t reproduce any offspring. Instead, Carole Hoff brought her two daughters, which she had from her previous marriage. It was a new start for John Wayne Gacy and a much safer but painful part for John Wayne Gacy’s kids and his former wife.
Although his former wife separated because he was convicted of sodomy, she didn’t know about all the horrible acts that he committed. The dark secret was exposed ten years after the separation in 1978.
The disappearance of Robert Piest led to the arrest of John Wayne Gacy. But his first murder took place long before that. It is reported that John Wayne Gacy murdered his first victim in 1972. And the number of his victims grew almost twice by the end of 1975.
Overall, he is said to have murdered at least 30 victims, one after the other.
John Wayne Gacy’s Second Marriage: The Identification Of The Killer
After going through a divorce, John Wayne Gacy moved in with his mother and got engaged to Carole Hoff. Wikipedia reports that the couple briefly dated back in their high school years. However, his mother moved out just before the wedding.
Spending some time together, John Wayne Gacy felt confident enough to tell his wife the truth; that he was bisexual.
The couple had sex on mother’s day, and it is reported that John Wayne Gacy had told her that it was the last time that they were ever going to have sex.
Soon after, John Wayne Gacy started spending time away from home and came in the early hours. When he was asked about the matter, he said he had been working up all night.
However, the blurriness of the matter soon started clearing when John Wyne Gacy was seen bringing teenage boys to his garage – that too in the early hours.
In addition, his wife also discovered gay pornography and also found men’s wallets in the house along with their IDs.
Not coming to terms with it (and quite understandably so), his wife confronted him about the fact. However, soon she saw the insidious monster that lurked beneath the surface of what John showed to the world.
It is reported that John Wayne Gacy told her to stay away from it as it was none of her business. Soon they both got divorced, which was their ultimate destiny.
John Wayne Gacy Started a Construction Company “PDM” After Separating From His Kids
Three years after the separation, John Wayne Gacy started his own construction company called PDM, “Painting, Decorating, and Maintenance.” There’s no doubt that John Wayne Gacy was a very hard worker. In fact, he worked up to 16 hours per day.
During the day, he was a cook and spent his evening working in his company. Just two years later, John Wayne Gacy was able to leave his day job and commit to PDM. The company grew, and John spent 16 hours of his day working for his company.
PDM really took off to its boom stage and was making $200,000 annually. Even though John turned out to be a successful businessman, he was still unable to beat the perversion out of him.
Let us tell you what we are talking about. Most of the employees at PDM were either high school students or young men. Now, John Wayne Gacy found himself in the perfect position to lure in his employees for monetary or other benefits in return.
That scheme started working out for him, but he also got to taste his own medicine here and there. For example, John once raped one of his employees in a hotel room.
Soon after, the employee drove straight to John Wayne Gacy’s house to beat the crap out of him. Even better, he was beaten up in his yard. However, he made up a story and told his wife that he took a beating as a result of denying payment for poor service.
Not learning from the experience at all, he took a chance on another employee named Anthony Antonucci. The employee got into an accident during his probation period at the company and injured his leg.
John Wayne Gacy knew it, and he wanted to take a chance at him. So he drove up to the employee’s house. The employee obviously let him in, and both took wine before watching a heterosexual pornographic movie.
Surely, it was enough to make Gacy think that he could finally act upon his animalistic intuitions – he couldn’t be more wrong as he was about to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
He quickly pinned Anthony Antonucci down to the floor and tied his hands behind his back. However, one cuff was loose, and so the high school wrestler freed himself and instead pinned John Wayne Gacy down to the floor when he entered the room.
Now the ball was in Anthony’s court, and so he took full advantage of it. He not only pinned him down to the floor, but he also tied John’s hands behind his back.
John Wayne Gacy said, “Not only are you the only one who got out of the cuffs, but you also got them on me.” However, John was a seasoned killer and a professional too.
John snapped at first and threatened the boy – but all he could do was realize that he couldn’t do anything, at the moment at least. Hence, John Wayne Gacy controlled himself and instead promised to leave the room if Anthony let these cuffs off him.
Anthony Antonucci took the cuffs off and watched John Wayne Gacy leave – just as promised.
Conclusion
Gacy is said to have murdered at least 33 individuals, all of whom were boys and men. His perversion led him to act out on his animalistic wishes, which resulted in either murder, injuries, or guilt for those who survived.
Indeed, it is nothing less than dangerous to be such a twisted individual and have all the young boys and men working in your company. Obviously, that led him to take advantage of numerous individuals who were working at the company.
