Duce Staley’s sister is April Staley. However, a well-known coach and former player in American football, Duce Staley, is the running backs coach and assistant head coach for the NFL’s Carolina Panthers.
Before this, he held comparable jobs with the Detroit Lions and worked as an assistant coach for the Philadelphia Eagles for several years, where he was an important member of the coaching staff during their triumph over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII.
After a stellar playing career that saw him selected by the Eagles in the 3 round of the 1997 NFL Draft and winning Super Bowl XL with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Staley started his coaching profession as a special teams quality control coach in 2011.
As a result of his abilities and knowledge of the game, he was eventually promoted to assistant head coach from running backs coach over the years.

Early Years
At Airport High School in West Columbia, South Carolina, Staley participated in athletics as a student. Although his primary position was a wide receiver, he was named an All-State wide receiver and saw action as a running back.
Career
Staley excelled at the University of South Carolina as a running back, finishing his senior year with 1,116 rushing yards, good for 13th place in the US.
He ran for 1,852 yards on 345 tries for an average of 5.4 yards per carry during his college career. He has also caught 59 passes for 489 yards and 2 scores.
Staley played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1997 to 2003 after being drafted by them in the NFL Draft. In his second season, Ricky Watters left, and he took over as the starter.
Staley rose to prominence in the team’s West Coast style under head coach Andy Reid, leading the group in receptions.
He only participated in five games and missed some time in 2000 and 2001 owing to a severe Lisfranc fracture and a shoulder ailment, though, as a result of injuries. To negotiate a new contract, Staley skipped training camp in 2003.
However, the Eagles decided to split playing time between Staley, Correll Buckhalter, and Brian Westbrook, and Staley was not re-signed following the season.
Personal Life
Staley is a happy father of 3 daughters and 4 sons. He is a citizen of Columbia, South Carolina. Staley is married to Maria Steadman.
He spends the off-seasons in Columbia. Staley was the first NFL player to successfully recover from a Lisfranc injury in 2001 after going through a special rehabilitation program.
He is also renowned for his charitable work and annually hosts the Duce Staley Football Camp at West Chester University, which generates money for charities, including the Variety Club, Direct Care for Kids, and the First Steps Program in South Carolina.
To assist single mothers, he also founded the Catch-22 Foundation. He gave $25,000 to the First Steps early childhood education program in 1999 to promote South Carolina’s educational system. Damani, who presently lines up as a linebacker for the South Carolina Gamecocks, is his son and a talented football player.
