Andy Fordham, world-renowned former darts champion, has died at the age of 59. He died of organ failure leaving the family heartrending.
Known as The Viking, Fordham won the Winmau Worlds Masters 1999. He also beat Mervyn King in the final of the BDO world championship 2004.
He’s knowns as the legend of darts, but it is announced with a heavy heart that he passed away on Thursday afternoon.
Other sportsmen such as Adrian Lewis (Two-time world champion) sent their condolences to the legend’s family.
Andy had been dealing with health issues for quite a long time throughout his life.
He once said that he’d drink 25 bottles of Lager every day.
He also caught the novel coronavirus in January.
Obesity is the mother of all diseases. Andy was suffering from obesity too. Once, he weighed 196kgs.
BDO also sent their condolences and expressed that the demise of Fordham deeply saddens them as he was indeed an asset and a great player.
