I present to you another of my favourite Canadian singers, Shawn Mendes, who holds dual nationalities (Portuguese and Canadian).
He was born on the 8th of August 1998 in Pickering, Ontario, Canada. He is 23 years old. While he is a Canadian, both his mom and dad are Europeans (Portuguese and British, respectively).
Shawn’s early life was pretty normal, and when I say normal, I mean no drugs, no poverty, no violence, crime, or anything.
His career started in 2013. There used to be an app named “Vine.” where people used to post 6-second-long videos on loop.
Mendes also posted Justin Bieber’s “As Long As You Love Me” on Vine and gained a lot of fans. “Handwritten” was his debut studio album, which came out in April 2015.
This album was a hit, and he became famous after that. Then he went on releasing other hits as well, like “Illuminate,” “Shawn Mendes,” “Wonder,” and others.

Drake is also a famous rapper as well as a singer. Drake’s birth name is Aubrey Drake Graham. He came into this world on the 24th of October 1986.
He hails from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is 35 years old. However, he is a Canadian; his father was African, who used to work in Tennessee.
This Canadian singer’s interest in the music was handed to him by his dad, as his dad was a drummer and his mom was a teacher.
But, circumstances took a turn, and his parents got separated. Drake’s mother won his custody, and they both chose to stay in Canada while his dad went to the U.S.

This Canadian singer was born on the 16th of February 1990 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is 32 years old. Abel Makkonen Tesfaye is his birth name.
He has the Grammy awards four times in his career. He began posting his music on YouTube by staying completely anonymous in 2009.
Abel’s music mostly focuses on romance, escapism, and melancholia. This Canadian singer also had his ups & downs in his early life.
When he was around six years old, he and his father got separated. He spent most of his childhood with his mom and grandma.
During an interview, he talked openly about his relationship with his father. He said that at first, he used to see him rarely at home, and then his dad got married, and he had kids from his second wife.
Furthermore, he praised his dad by calling him “great” and that his father was not an addict, nor was he abusive. In short, his dad was everything a father should be.

Here I present to you the first female Canadian singer on this list, Avril Lavigne, who is 37 years old. She was born on the 27th of September 1984, in Belleville, Ontario, Canada.
Lavigne’s birth name is Avril Ramona Lavigne. This Canadian singer has dual nationalities (Canadian and French). She is such a beautiful artist.
She knows that she is pretty. That’s why she didn’t remain only in the music industry and also became an actress. Anyways, she stepped into the music industry in 1999.
Avril was married to Deryck Whibley from 2006 to 2010 until their divorce. Then, she tied the knot with Chad Kroeger in 2013, and they both also got divorced in 2015.
Her father gave her the name “Avril,” which means “April (in French).” She got lucky that her parents were pretty supportive and wanted to see her become a singer.

Here we go again with the second female Canadian singer, Celine Dion, who was named Céline Marie Claudette Dion when she was born.

Sources regard her as the best-selling French and Canadian artist of all time. Unlike other artists, this Canadian singer had a relatively good childhood.
Her family was pretty big, as she had fourteen siblings. She was interested in music and becoming a singer from her early days.
“Ce n’était qu’un rêve” was the first song that she handwrote with her mom and brother, and her age was just twelve at the time. “Ce n’était qu’un rêve” means “Nothing But A Dream.”
