Marrying and then getting divorced is quite common in the U.S. It’s just like purchasing a product online and getting a refund after a bad experience.
However, the rarer thing is remarrying your divorced spouse. It sounds like a bad idea, but it is sometimes the best marital decision.
The same happened with the richest judge in the world “Judge Judy.” There were two of Judge Judy’s husbands, with her marrying the second twice.

Who Is Judge Judy?
Judith Susan Sheindlin, popular as “Judge Judy,” is an American court show Arbitrator, Author, Celebrity, and TV producer.
She was born on October 21, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, United States. She graduated from James Madison High School.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from American University in Washington, D.C., majoring in Government and earned her Juris Doctor degree after finishing her law school education at New York Law School in 1965.
After gaining national recognition as a Judge, she debuted her TV show, “Judge Judy,” on September 16, 1996, which ran for 25 seasons.
Judge Judy’s First Marriage:
Ronald Levy, the first Judge Judy’s husband, married her in 1964. They had two children, a boy named Adam and a girl named Jamie.
Judy had to put her career on hold to stay home and look after her children. When Judy decided to return to work, her husband Levy wasn’t supportive of the idea.
He named her job a hobby, which Judy didn’t appreciate. Judy got divorced from Levy in 1976 after 12 years of marriage.
Her Second Marriage
In 1976, the same year she divorced, Judy met Jerry Sheindlin at a bar in New York. Jerry was then a married person.
However, Jerry was not living with her wife since they got separated years ago. Jerry still lacked a desire to divorce her wife, which got on Judy’s nerves, so she told Jerry not to call her until he filed the divorce.
Reportedly Jerry argued that they didn’t need that divorce to live together, after which Judy whipped out a calendar and ordered him to pick a date immediately.
The couple got married in 1977. They had three children together, two boys, Gregory and Jonathan, and a girl Nicole.
About Jerry Sheindlin
Gerald Jerry Sheindlin, the second Judge Judy’s Husband, is an American Judge, Celebrity, and author like his wife.
He was born on November 19, 1933, in New York City, United States. He served in the Navy during the Korean War in 1951.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Long Island University and, in 1959, an L.L.B degree from Brooklyn Law School after serving in the army.
Judge Judy was also his second spouse, just like Jerry was, with Jerry divorcing his first wife in 1977.
Judge Judy’s Divorce From Jerry Sheindlin
Judy’s father passed away in 1990, causing an emotional breakdown in Judy. She had cared for her husband for 12 years and demanded a role reversal.
Jerry, who was unaccustomed to all this caretaking, refused to do such a thing which Judy claims wasn’t his fault due to how he lived his life.
Judy threatened Jerry to divorce him out of anger and frustration, to which Jerry dared his wife. The next day, Jerry received the divorce papers, ultimately getting divorced.
Their Remarriage
After getting divorced in 1990, this was not the end of their story as they both started to miss each other since they were used to being with each other for over a decade.
One year later, after it was no longer possible for Jerry to live without her, he called Judy and asked her out on a date, to which Judy agreed.
The date made Jerry more confident in them getting together eventually, and one day he picked her up from the court, and they walked downtown.
Jerry shared his uncomfortable feeling of being with her all the time and not being married to her, so they should get married ASAP, an idea which Judy was consensual of.
They immediately headed to the clerk’s office and got their marriage license. The two lawyers asked Jerry’s Supreme Court Justice friend to officiate their marriage.
Their Happy Life
After getting married again in 1991, they lived happily together, finding time for each other despite their busy work schedule.
Judge Judy will turn 80 this year, and Judge Judy’s husband, Jerry, is 88. They have been married for more than four decades.
With both of their careers being a massive financial success, Jerry Sheindlin’s net worth is expectedly to be $550 million, and his wife’s net worth is estimated to be around $450 million.
