Renowned saxophonist Wayne Shorter, who was in Los Angeles, California, died on March 2nd, 2023, at 89. The reason for his death has not been disclosed.
His official Facebook page commemorated him with a photo of him walking on the grass in an outdoor location, along with a caption that announced his peaceful passing at 4 am, surrounded by his loved ones.
The caption included his quote, “It’s time to go get a new body and come back to continue the mission,” and ended with “Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.”

On Facebook, Herbie Hancock, the musician, shared a black-and-white photo of himself with Wayne Shorter, smiling while conversing, to express his sorrow.
In his post, Hancock stated that Shorter, who excelled as a saxophonist, composer, orchestrator, and recently, the composer of the opera “Iphigenia,” was an irreplaceable human being.
He also mentioned missing Shorter’s company and unique qualities but added that he always carries his spirit in his heart.
