Cusimano continued his love of music while working as a lawyer in NY and New Jersey, singing and playing guitar with the group The Cringe, which he co-founded in the early 2000s.

Just their closest friends and family were present at the private wedding of John Cusimano and Rachel Ray in 2005 at the Castle di Verona in Italy.
The couple lost their cherished dog, Isaboo, in May 2020. They are childless. In 2004, John and Rachel first ran into one other at a friend’s party when Rachel mistakenly thought he was gay and even attempted to hook him up with a male buddy.
However, after several months of romance, the two decided to start dating and were wed on September 25, 2005.
In her book My Year in Meals, which she wrote with John, a lawyer, and musician, Rachel revealed some of the delectable dishes she ate that year.
