Jock Zonfrillo Professional Career
The MasterChef Australia judge began working as a part-time dishwasher at 12, and at 15, he left school to work in Turnberry’s Hotel kitchens.
He won the Young Scottish Chef of the Year award in 1993, which led to his relocation to Chester and, subsequently to London. He worked under renowned chef Marco Pierre White.
In 1996, he made his first visit to Australia, and by 2000, he had permanently moved there and became the head chef at Restaurant 41 in Sydney. He served as the head at Penfolds Magill for 18 months in 2011.
He opened his 1st dining restaurant in Adelaide. Gourmet Traveller called it the restaurant of the year.
Jock Zonfrillo Television Career
Jock started his television career as the host of Nomad Chef in 2014. He also hosted Restaurant Revolution in 2015 and later made a guest appearance as a chef on MasterChef Australia in 2019.
In 2021, Jock Zonfrillo, who rose to fame through MasterChef Australia, published his memoir Last Shot. It chronicled his battles with addiction and mental health problems during his culinary career.
