Raised by Steven and Carla Davidson alongside his brother Michael, Scott spent his childhood exploring the borough with his brother and developing a deep love for sports.
His natural athletic ability was evident from a young age. Scott was a standout baseball player in the Great Kills Little League during elementary school.
He played basketball for four years at St. Joseph By-The-Sea High School and was named the Most Important Player in the Jacques Classic All-Star School contest in 1986.
Scott never lost his passion for sports, even while pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in history at the College of Staten Island (CSI), where he played for the CSI Dolphins and graduated as the basketball team captain in 1990.
He won the Melvin Barmel Memorial Award and was named CSI’s Male Athlete of the Year.
After graduation, he pursued a teaching career and obtained a teacher’s license to work as a substitute.

He coached the intramural and CYO programs at St. Clare’s School while playing basketball for the Fire Department and Jewish Community Center teams.

How Scott Davidson Perished On 9/11 Preserving Lives?
Scott Davidson was a man with many passions. He coached freshman basketball teams and played in the North Shore Softball League while working as an experienced firefighter and substitute teacher in Brooklyn. He tended to bar and spent time with his two children in his free time.
On the morning of Sept 11, 2001, Davidson was on duty with Ladder Company 118 when the attacks occurred.
He and his fellow firefighters rushed to the World Trade Center to help evacuate the Marriott hotel between the North and South Towers.
Their efforts helped save the lives of approximately 200 people. Tragically, all six men from Ladder 118 lost their lives that day. v
