Chris Rock, the 57-year-old comedian, has six younger brothers and one younger sister, making him the eldest among his siblings. Interestingly, the talent for entertainment runs in the Rock family.
Chris drew inspiration from his upbringing in Brooklyn during the 1980s, where he was raised in a lively and peculiar family. This led him to create the popular television series ‘Everybody Hates Chris,’ based on his teenage encounters, with Tyler James Williams portraying the lead role.
Despite the sitcom’s conclusion in 2009, Chris’ family still engages in their amusing antics and has pursued distinct paths as adults. Find out more about Chris’ seven siblings here!

Who Is Charles Ledell Rock?
Despite being the oldest in his immediate family, Chris had an older half-brother named Charles Ledell Rock, Julius’s son from a previous relationship. Charles was born only two years before Chris, in 1953, and had a close bond with Chris’ younger brother, Tony, who affectionately referred to him as “Charles.”
Unfortunately, Charles passed away tragically at 52 in February 2006. He had struggled with alcohol and addiction for much of his life and reportedly died in a homeless shelter.
Who Is Andre Rock?
Despite his brother Chris’ fame, Andre Rock, the eldest sibling, has maintained a low profile. He was born in 1967 and was rarely seen with Chris or their family in public. Nevertheless, in his way, Andre has shown his appreciation for their family roots in Brooklyn.
According to reports, he operates Julius Rock Trucking Inc., a trucking company named after their late father, who passed away in 1988, instead of creating a TV show loosely based on their family history.
Who Is Tony Rock?
When Chris believed he was the only Rock brother gifted in entertainment, Tony Rock arrived in 1974 and proved him wrong. Tony is a stand-up comedian and has appeared in sitcoms such as ‘Living Biblically’ and ‘All of Us.’
He even had a recurring role in his semi-autobiographical show. Tony gained recognition for playing the amusing character of Uncle Tony (purportedly modeled after their real uncle) on the television series ‘Everybody Hates Chris.’
During a 2008 interview with The Washington Post, Tony discussed his decision to pursue a career in comedy, following in his brother’s footsteps. Growing up in Bedford-Stueyvsant, he had listened to recordings of Richard Pryor, George Carlin, and Eddie Murphy alongside his brother Chris, which helped him develop a natural aptitude for comedy.
Tony also revealed that following in his brother’s footsteps is both a blessing and a curse, as he cannot take a casual approach to his sets because if he doesn’t do well, he may be accused of only succeeding due to his brother’s success.
Tony, Chris’ brother, may have been impacted by the infamous incident at the 2022 Oscars, commonly famous as the “slap heard around the world.” This event involved Will Smith, who slapped Chris at the age of 53 after he made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s bald head.
Tony and Will shared a close relationship, which Will acknowledged in his public apology, the first since the incident occurred. Will apologized to Chris’s family, specifically Tony Rock, stating that Tony was his friend and that their relationship was probably beyond repair. However, Tony has not responded to the apology yet.
Who Is Brian Rock?
Like his brother Andre, Brian Rock has opted to keep a low profile and is seldom observed in public with his more media-friendly siblings or on social media. Reports suggest that Brian is presently working as a minister in a church.
Who Is Kenny Rock?
Chris’ brother, Kenny Rock, was born in 1979 and has found a balance between pursuing a career in entertainment and avoiding the limelight. Despite acting in a few movies, such as Vesuvius and Coincidental Killer, Kenny is not very active on Instagram.
However, he enjoys posting pictures of his family, including throwback photos of his mother, Rose, and selfies with Chris.
In 2020, to celebrate Chris’ birthday, Kenny posted a sweet selfie of himself and his brother on Instagram, using heartwarming hashtags such as “brotherly love,” “black comedy,” and “family first.”
In a 2017 interview, Kenny spoke about his brother Chris and described him as an introvert despite his ease in front of large crowds.
Kenny mentioned that Chris has a circle of high-caliber people around him, but he struggles with social interactions and can be socially awkward. According to Kenny, Chris doesn’t speak much outside of work and is very reserved.
Who Is Andi Rock?
Andi Rock, Chris’ sole younger sister, was born in 1985 and could keep up with her large group of brothers. She is currently situated in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and is known to be a therapist who specializes in working with kids who have autism. Her elder brothers hold great admiration for her and her achievements.
In an Instagram picture featuring Andi, Jordan, Kenny, and Chris cheerfully posing together during the festive season, Kenny affectionately referred to her as his “little sister.”
Who Is Jordan Rock?
Rose, the mother of Chris, Tony, and Jordan Rock, once made a humorous remark about the possibility of passing on comedy talent through her breast milk. It seems that the joke held some truth, as all three of her sons went on to pursue careers in comedy.
Jordan, the youngest brother born in 1991, followed in his siblings’ footsteps by pursuing comedy. Despite Chris and Tony achieving success in the industry by the time Jordan began, he did not let that deter him.
He charted his course and eventually landed roles in various projects, including the film Big Time Adolescence, where he starred alongside Pete Davidson, and the HBO Max series ‘Love Life.’
Jordan Rock, who was once called the “cool kid, skateboarder, and wise beyond his years” by his brother Tony, grew up in South Carolina before moving to Brooklyn to pursue a career in comedy. After leaving high school, he moved to be closer to his siblings.
Jordan’s comedy is tailored to millennials, and he often opens with a joke about being the lesser-known brother of famous comedian Chris Rock.
While Tony initially had reservations about supporting Jordan’s comedy aspirations, he now lovingly refers to his younger brother as his favorite comedian, even ranking him above Chris.
