In the summer of 2013, Claudia Drury traveled to Pinehurst, North Carolina, to perform landscaping work on Larry Ray‘s stepfather’s home.
She claimed that summer’s fortunes quickly plummeted because Ray reportedly dictated her food and sleeping schedules.
She further alleged that he frequently made her stay up late working.
Drury claimed that throughout the experience, she lost 40 pounds in three weeks.
Drury said Ray “urged” her to have sex with other people when she returned to New York and drove her into a BDSM lifestyle.
She also claimed that he compelled her to surrender to him.
Drury stated to the jury during her testimony during Ray’s trial, “With customers, I knew if I requested them to cease, they would indeed stop. Even if I begged him to stop, I didn’t think he would.”
Drury alleges that Ray trafficked her throughout that time and instructed her to lose weight to attract clients.
The price to spend a night alongside Drury increased as the clientele rose.
Ray Billed More Than $2,000
She alleges that Ray billed more than $2,000 for an hour-long session.
However, it wasn’t until the US State’s attorney released an email Drury had already sent to Ray in 2018 that the details became public.
One hundred twelve clients were named in the email with their full names.
On April 6, Larry Ray was found guilty of 17 counts of bribery and trafficking, and he now faces a life sentence.
Later in 2022, his punishment is anticipated to be followed.
In a record of the March 24 trial, the government questioned Drury about whether she continued working as a male prostitute while being ill.
She affirmed, adding that Ray would “even urge (her) to.”
She claimed he threatened to extort her clients and warned he would put her in jail if he didn’t stop.
She further claimed that he had threatened to waterboard her and asked, “Do you know what happens to women throughout the Middle East?” Larry also threatened to drop me there.
Ray allegedly advised Drury to take a cab once, but rather than paying the fare, he encouraged her to engage in sexual activity with the driver.
Another time, Ray allegedly gave her the order to locate an unknown man in Manhattan and have sex together in Central Park.
