Family members and friends of the person who passed away after a run-in with the law are seeking explanations.
Tyre Nichols was transported to the hospital after what authorities call “an altercation” with Memphis Police, where he later passed away on Tuesday.
Tyre Nichols was involved in a traffic encounter on Saturday night that resulted in him being sent to the hospital, where he, unfortunately, passed away a few days ago.
Perry Williams informed us he remained friends with Nichols even though he was uncomfortable displaying his face.
He added, “We all desire to know what happened. He wasn’t entitled to what occurred to him. It is very sad. He wasn’t entitled to that.”
After a traffic violation near Raines and Ross Roads, according to Memphis Police, went wrong, the TBI is now looking into what is being called a use of violent incident.
Authorities allegedly stopped Nichols for driving recklessly.
They claim that Nichols fled after what they call a “conflict” as they drew closer to his car.
He was finally apprehended, but according to authorities, there was another altercation before his detention.
He Complained Of Experiencing Difficulty
He complained of experiencing difficulty breathing after being detained and was rushed to the hospital in a serious condition.
Williams remarked, “Running is not really a death sentence.” “It was sad to see another young black man get hurt and then die at the hands of the cops.”
Nichols was a skateboard enthusiast and a father.
Williams claimed, “He was just not at all an aggressive person. He was simply a good man.”
According to Nichols’ relatives, he was unarmed when the incident occurred. Williams hopes the police’ surveillance footage from that evening will be made public.
We discovered that Nichols worked for FedEx. Company spokesperson reads in part:
“We are profoundly grieved by the unfortunate passing of a colleague on our team, and we are thinking of this person’s families, friends, and coworkers at this trying time. At about this time, police authorities should be contacted with any more inquiries.”
Unidentified officers currently on leave while the investigation is underway are believed to have been engaged in the case.
We inquired, but MPD said that “all details have been released.”
