Early Career

After leaving North London Collegiate, Anna Wintour enrolled in a fashion course at a nearby school and began a training program at Harrods. In 1970, she secured a job as an editorial assistant for the newly launched Harper’s & Queen fashion magazine.

Even at this stage in her profession, Wintour expressed her desire to edit Vogue, a dream that would be fulfilled almost two decades later. However, frequent disagreements with her rival, Min Hogg, led her to resign and move to New York with her boyfriend, Jon Bradshaw.

In 1987, Conde Nast requested that Wintour take over House & Garden, a publication struggling to maintain readership compared to its rival, Architectural Digest.

She made sweeping changes to the magazine, including canceling the $2 million fortune of photo spreads and articles in her first week and incorporating more fashion content into its pages, leading to it being called “House & Garment.”

Ten months later, Anna Wintour was appointed editor of the US edition of Vogue, a position she has held since then.

Vogue

Wintour revolutionized the magazine’s approach from the first issue of her tenure at Vogue. Her preference for more naturalistic outdoor photography featuring lesser-known models marked a distinct departure from the tight headshots that had previously dominated the magazine’s covers.

Her debut cover featured a model wearing jeans and a bejeweled T-shirt worth $10,000 – a bold move that set the tone for future changes.

Wintour’s reputation was boosted in 2006 with the release of “The Devil Wears Prada,” a film featuring a character inspired by her. The movie turned Wintour into a cultural icon, further cementing her status in public.

Houses

Anna Wintour, the iconic editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine, is famous for her impeccable taste in fashion and style. Her taste in interior design is impressive, as she has owned and decorated several stunning homes over the years.

One of her most famous homes is her townhouse on Sullivan Street in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village, which features a mix of classic and modern design elements, including a striking black and white staircase and a sleek, contemporary kitchen.

She also owns a stunning beach house in Mastic, Long Island, boasting sweeping ocean views and a serene, minimalist design.

Another one of her homes is a Georgian-style mansion in upstate New York, which features elegant, traditional decor and sprawling grounds complete with a tennis court and swimming pool.

Each of Anna Wintour’s homes reflects her impeccable style and taste and showcases her love for classic and contemporary design.

Car Collection

Anna Wintour, the renowned editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine and one of the best influential figures in the fashion industry, is known for her impeccable taste and style in fashion and her choice of cars.

Wintour’s car collection includes a range of high-end luxury vehicles, such as a Mercedes-Benz S-Class, a BMW 7 Series, and a Lexus LS.

However, her most prized possession is said to be her vintage 1950s Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith, which she often uses for special occasions and events.

Wintour’s car collection reflects her status as a fashion icon and her appreciation for classic elegance and sophistication.

Net Worth Growth

Wintour’s net worth growth can be attributed to her long and successful fashion journalism and publishing career. In addition to her role at Vogue, she has held positions at other major fashion publications, including Harper’s Bazaar and The New York Times.

She has also served as the artistic director of Condé Nast, the publisher of Vogue and other high-profile magazines.

Salary

However, as the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue magazine, she is widely believed to earn a significant salary of $4 million per year due to her influence and status in the fashion industry.

In addition to her role at Vogue, Wintour is also the Artistic Director of Conde Nast, the parent company of Vogue, which further adds to her earnings.

Lifestyle

Anna Wintour is a highly influential figure in the fashion industry and has been the editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine. Her lifestyle is often characterized by her love of fashion, impeccable style, and dedication to her work.

She is known for her signature look of a bob haircut and dark sunglasses, which she wears indoors and outdoors. Wintour is also a fitness enthusiast and regularly practices yoga and tennis.

She strongly advocates for philanthropic causes and has been involved with numerous charities throughout her career.
