Some companies like Nurture Inc, Hain Celestial Group Inc, Beech-Nut Nutrition, Nestle-owned Gerber, Sprout Organic Foods, and Campbell is reported to contain heavy toxic metals i.e., arsenic, cadmium, mercury, and lead in baby foods.

It was reported that the companies like Gerber and Nurture allowed the investigation of final products. The investigation should be implemented on final products not only on ingredients, added the member of the subcommittee designed. In addition, some companies like Walmart and Sprout Organic Foods have denied cooperating.

In a report, some baby foods of Nurture contained 100 parts per billion arsenic in their products which are alarming for babies’ health. When Hain’s ingredients were tested they also contained 129ppb arsenic and 20ppb cadmium.

Gerber also uses arsenic and its products contained 90ppb arsenic, and 48 ppb lead. FDA is working and testing for other companies too to provide safe food.
