Mike Richards, the executive producer of Jeopardy is most likely to become Jeopardy’s permanent host by replacing the legendary Alex Trebek and fans are already unhappy about it.
It came into knowledge last week that Mike Richards who is the executive producer of jeopardy, is negotiating with Sony Pictures Television about becoming the show’s new host.
The show’s previous and beloved host Alex Trebek died last year in November, and after that, Jeopardy was hosted by a series of guest hosts, that Sony television brought in. Mike joined Jeopardy last year as executive producer and impressed Sony with his stage charm and the way he’d interact with contestants of the show, as he was one of the guest hosts in February.
Richards has hosted High school reunion, Beauty and the Geek in the past. He was also the executive producer of the show Let’s Make a Deal & The Price is Right. It is obvious that he has made his way into the industry and producers and directors really like him.
However, some of Jeopardy’s fan are not happy with Richard being the permanent host of the show. They have taken it on Twitter to state that they aren’t impressed with him that much.
The main reason about this is that Mike’s name was among the defendants in many lawsuits filed in 10 years when he was the executive producer of The Price is Right.
In the year 2010, a lawsuit was filed by Brandi Cochran accusing Mike of firing her from the show because she was pregnant. Model Lanisha Cole also filed a lawsuit against Mike stating that she was harassed on the set of the show. Both of these cases were resolved in settlements, later.
Mike reported about these lawsuits, that Cochran was removed because of some changes that were made in the lineup of models.
I want you all to know that the way in which my comments and actions have been characterized in these complaints does not reflect the reality of who I am or how we worked together on The Price is Right
He also said that he does not disrespect anyone’s parenting journey and he has always been supportive of his co-workers during their pregnancies.
But still these lawsuits made Richards incapable and the wrong choice to replace the dearest Alex Trebek, said Stacy Lee Kong.
And many other fans who took the issue to Twitter had the same feelings about Mike. They are not entirely happy about him being the permanent host of Jeopardy.
