The Today Show meteorologist and co-anchor revealed to his fans and followers that his youngest daughter Leila has also flown to Japan to report on the Tokyo Olympics.
Al is also in Tokyo for reporting on the Olympics and was ecstatic don’t know that he would be doing this alongside his sweet daughter. But he admitted that the hardest part would be waving her off again. He tweeted a touching caption, “The hardest part about leaving the @tokyo2020 @olympics is saying goodbye for now to @cleilapatra who is killing it working for @nbcsports here in #tokyo.”
Recently, he had raved about his daughter working for the Olympics. He said, “She was three years old at the Salt Lake Olympics, and she really was fascinated by the production runners. She’s always wanted to do this.”
El and Leila are close, and the dad-daughter duo is often seen posting pictures and selfies on their Instagram accounts. In an interview, he said, “My middle girl, Leila, is a production runner for the primetime show on Peacock, and she’s always wanted to do this.”
His 22-year-old daughter Leila has recently graduated from the American University of Paris this May and currently resides in France. She also has an older sister, Courtney, from her father’s first marriage And a younger brother Nick from Deborah Roberts, Leila’s mother. Debora is also a news correspondent and is working for ABC News.
