Mercy Johnson Okojie is a Nigerian actress. She is often referred to as Mercy Johnson or MJ and is one of Nigeria’s most controversial actresses. In her movies and real life, she is always surrounded by critics of various types. When she played a role in the film “The Maid,” she first became the focus of everyone’s attention, in which she played the role of her own babysitter. Since then, she has attracted many filmmakers and has apparently appeared in many movies.

The actress was born in Lagos on August 28, 1984. The former naval officer Daniel Johnson and her mother, Elizabeth Johnson. Kogi State Mercy Johnson originally came from Okene and grew up in a family of 7 children. She is the fourth child. She has 3 sisters older than her and three younger brothers.

Due to financial reasons, Mercy Johnson dropped out of school several times. On various occasions, she set up vendors to drink water and other food and worked as a maid to help them make money. Having difficulty paying tuition and going to school, she started to act because she did not take the university entrance exam.

Mercy Johnson was once banned from performing because it was too expensive. On November 3, 2013, due to high demand for Nollywood, her film marketers threatened to ban her from entering the industry. According to reports, she and Hollywood stars such as Genevieve Nnaji, Omoto Jarrard Elkind (Richard Mofe Damijo), Emeka Ike, Ram Hollywood stars such as Nike Noah, Stella Damasus, and Jim Iyke have all been banned from performing because they reportedly demand a significant pay increase for each movie.


However, after the actress apologized, the ban was canceled by the marketer/producer on March 9, 2014.


Mercy Johnson officially became Mrs. Okojie in 2011 and married Prince Odianosen Okojie (commonly known as Odi). Following the traditional wedding in Iyana Iba Lagos on August 26, the grand wedding ceremony was held at the IKEA Oregun Christian Embassy. Unsurprisingly, many dignitaries, including Nollywood stars and senior government officials, have graced the occasion. MJ’s chief bridesmaid, Ghanaian star actress, Yvonne Nelson, and other Ghanaian celebrities fly to Lagos.

Family life

Mercy Johnson and her husband Odianosen Okojie have three children. There were two children before the marriage broke up. Although her husband’s first marriage failed, MJ continues to live a peaceful and happy life with Odi and his three children, and the actress also plans to have baby No. 4.
