According to reports, Justin Edison went missing before his scheduled court appearance in Tory Lanez’s trial.
An investigation is underway into the disappearance of Megan Thee Stallion’s former bodyguard, who disappeared ahead of his scheduled court appearance in Tory Lanez’s trial.
Alex Spiro, Megan’s attorney, told ABC News that he and his team recently learned Justin Edison went missing.
“The LAPD is currently looking into his disappearance, and welcome any information about his whereabouts,” reads the statement.
During Lanez’s trial, Edison was scheduled to testify regarding Megan’s shooting in 2020 after leaving a party at Kylie Jenner’s house.
Among the charges, Lanez faces are discharging a firearm with gross negligence, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and carrying an unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
Edison’s disappearance was not immediately explained.
Megan Thee Stallion’s former best friend and assistant testified on Thursday.
Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, could spend more than 22 years in prison if convicted on all counts. Also, he could be deported to Canada, where he is from.
In 2009, Lanez began his career with mixtapes, and since then, he has released both a mixtape and a major-label album that reached the Billboard top 10.
As a major up-and-coming star, Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, has skyrocketed since the incident. As a Grammy winner in 2021, she had No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Savage,” featuring Beyoncé, and “WAP,” featuring Cardi B.
