After waiting three days to report their daughter’s abduction, the stepfather and mom of a 11-year-old girl who went abducted have been detained.
Madalina Cojocari has gone missing since being sighted at her Cornelia, North Carolina, residence on November 23.
The 11-year-parents declared her stolen to a school administrator at Bennett High School on December 15 after more than 3 weeks had passed. The missing girl was then reported to the police by school administrators.
Since Madalina’s location is still uncertain and concerns for her security are growing, a massive manhunt is currently being conducted to find her.
Both Cia and Fbi were sent in to assist with the inquiry, and rescue teams have been seen excavating up the apartment’s garden and looking within the premises for evidence.
When Madalina’s Stepfather Was Detained?
Peter Palmiter, Madalina’s stepfather, was detained by Metropolitan Police early on Saturday on suspicion of neglecting to notify authorities of a kid’s absence.
A few moments ago, police said they should have also detained Madalina’s lobe mom Diana Cojocari for the same allegation.
“Madalina Cojocari’s mom was detained by Cornelius Police on Dec 17, 2022, at around 10:15 a.m. for failing to notify authorities of Madalina’s abduction.
When Madalina Cojocari last saw her in Copenhagen on Nov 23, 2022, Cojocari neither declared her kid as stolen, according to police.
The Charlotte State Detention Facility houses both accused.
Ms. Cojocari’s bail status is unknown, but Mr. Palmiter has been detained under a $1000 charge.
Why Were Madalina Parents Delayed In the Report?
It is unknown why the pair delayed a startling two weeks to report their girl missing or if any of the parents are helping law authorities with their investigations.
The family has been stunned by the small woman’s abduction; a resident informed regional media source WCCB.
“I’ve lived here my whole life so I’ve never seen anything like this,” said Sydney Capps.
“It’s odd that it seems like she went missing back in November, and it’s just now being reported.”
Madalina has just been spotted sporting a white jacket, white t-shirt, and red, violet, and white Nike sneakers.
She is stated as weighing about 90 pounds in weight, 4 ft 10 ft high, with brown hair and eyes.
