Chicago, IL (WLS) The iconic DJ Lin Brehmer’s passing has left WXRT fans in despair.
Brehmer, who spent more than 3 decades at WXRT, was well-known in Chicago.
Brehmer lost his fight with prostate cancer on Sunday. However, he was 68.
He had been a regular on the radio since 1991 and was well-known for his humor and quick wit.
The well-known radio personality was a die-hard Cubs supporter and a season ticket holder.
On Sunday, his nameplate was written on the light at Wrigley Field.
According to regular listener Bruce Jasinski, Brehmer was his close friend.
Jasinski Visited The WXRT Office
Owner of a nearby flower business Jasinski visited the WXRT office in the downtown area on Monday morning to present a bouquet he had personally created as a token of thanks.
“Many people, including relatives and friends, would inquire about his character while I was working with him. He is exactly that way” Coworker Robbie Walker made the statement.
The disc jockey worked at WXRT for most of his career inside the morning drive-time slot before switching to middays.
On Monday’s radio special featured some of Lin’s favorite songs, coworkers fought back the tears.
They claimed they were working to support one another during this painful period.
