Lars Nootbaar’s father, Charlie Nootbaar, is a co-owner of RAC Performance, a company. Lars himself is a baseball outfielder who plays for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Due to his mother’s Japanese heritage, Nootbaar became eligible to play for the Japan National team alongside players like Shohei Ohtani and Masataka Yoshida.
Before his professional career, Nootbaar played college baseball for three seasons at the University of Southern California. During his college summers, he also played in the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Orleans Firebirds.
In 2019, Nootbaar began his professional career with the Class A Peoria Chiefs of the Midwest League. After being counted to the 40-man roster, he was promoted to the main leagues on June 22, 2021. He was later selected to represent the Glendale Desert Dogs in the Arizona Fall League.

Charlie Nootbar and Kumi Enokida have three kids including Lars. However, Lars Nootbaar shares a strong bond with his siblings, brother Nigel Nootbaar and sister Nicole Nootbaar. Growing up, they spent much time playing together and supporting each other through thick and thin.
Like Lars, both of his siblings also pursued careers in sports. Nicole is an athletic trainer, and Nigel played as a pitcher in the Baltimore Orioles system before transitioning to a representative marketing role.

Nicole is keenly interested in athletic training and has completed the Corrective Exercise Specialization course from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Nicole began her athletic training career as an intern at the University of California in 2013, where she worked for three years. She then completed her five-month athletic training student internship at Chapman University, Foothill High School, and California State Polytechnic University.
She has gained experience as an intern at various universities and as an assistant athletic trainer for 2 years at the University of California.
After six months as an assistant athletic trainer at Mater Dei High School, Nicole was offered to join the staff at UCLA in August 2022.
Nigel Is A Marketing Representative
Nigel Nootbaar is a marketing representative at Federated Insurance, specializing in providing customized liability and asset insurance programs for business owners to protect their businesses.
He completed his Bachelor’s in Physical Sciences from the University of Southern California in 2015 and was a former baseball pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles.
Nigel was selected in the 12th round of the 2014 MLB draft and played professionally for Lincoln Pro for one year. In 2014, he was a private instructor at Beach City Baseball Academy.

Lars Nootbaar grew up in El Segundo, California, with his family. He is the great-grandson of businessman Herbert Nootbaar, an American businessman and recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor. Herbert worked in the agricultural sector and for Taylor Milling Corporation.
He was also a member of the World Affairs Council of Orange County, president of the National Grain and Feed Association, and chairman of the San Gabriel Valley Council.
Lars spent his childhood playing baseball with his father and even worked as a batboy when Japanese high school players visited the US in 2006 for exhibition matches.
