Jarrod Johnston, age 18, vanished from Yazoo City, Mississippi, on July 7, 2007. He stormed away from the house after shouting at his grandmother.
Nobody had ever seen or spoken of him since he left for home and never returned. Johnston’s whereabouts are still unknown.
The investigators have aggressively sought after him, but no leads have emerged.
His family is still seeking clarification and pleading for anyone with knowledge to come forward.
Both the lawsuit and Jarrod Johnston’s whereabouts are still unknown.
His Disappearance
On June 4, 2007, Jarrod and his family traveled 500 miles from Franklin, Kentucky, to Yazoo City, Mississippi.
On July 7, 2007, Jarrod’s parents pulled him off around his friend’s house without realizing he would be there for several weeks.
The parents of his acquaintance were similarly unprepared and brought him to his grandmother’s house.
Soon after, Jarrod and his grandma disagreed about his unscheduled stay at her home.
She just had hip replacement surgery and was worried that Jarrod could steal her painkillers as he did in the past.
At three o’clock in the afternoon, Jarrod stormed out, holding a black duffel bag, a rucksack, and a walnut-colored Ibanez violin in a zippered pouch.
His sister pursued him and attempted to soothe him by advising him to phone their Kentucky-based parents.
Jarrod’s family hasn’t heard from him in the years since his disappearance. They were notified of the politics back in Kentucky by his grandma.
While thinking he would have to stay home, his girlfriend, who lived in Yazoo City, chose to give him some distance and time to calm down.
Three weeks after Jarrod failed to return home, his parents contacted the police to file a cold case complaint.
Investigation About The Case
In January 2007, Jarrod left his purse in his girlfriend’s car, with his ID and social security card. When he disappeared, his mobile phone was unable to be located.
On July 8, 2007, fifteen hours after Jarrod’s friend dropped them off along with his grandma, Jarrod’s mother informed his family that she had seen him walking around downtown Yazoo City.
A cousin informed Jarrod’s family that he had been spotted in Jackson, Mississippi, in December 2007, in a mall’s parking lot.
In the meantime, he was unaware that Jarrod was absent, and when he briefly moved his attention elsewhere, he lost sight of Jarrod.
Jarrod had visited the mall jewelry store in December 2007 to choose an engagement ring, and the cashier at that time could recall it.
He informed her that he would return with that other card when his credit was stolen but declined, but he never did.
He reportedly spent much time in a drug rehab facility before entering his junior year.
