June 4, 2010, was an ordinary day in America. Young Kyron Horman was really excited about going to his Elementary School in Portland, Oregon.
He also made a science project about frogs to display in the school. According to the reports, his stepmother dropped him at the school and stayed with him while Kyron attended a science fair.
But when his parents went to the bus station to pick him up, the bus driver said,

Background Of Kyron Horman
On September 9, 2002, Kyron Richard Horman was born in Portland, Oregon. His parents, Desiree Young and Kaine Horman, an engineer for Intel, were not happy together and wanted to file a divorce.
But once they realized that they were expecting a baby, they decided to work on their relationship.
However, things did not work out, and they filed a divorce when Kyron’s mother, Desiree, was eight-month pregnant with him. The court granted shared custody of Kyron.
In 2004 when Kyron was just 2 years old, Desiree was diagnosed with kidney failure, and she was unable to take care of her baby. So Kaine took over full custody of Kyron, but Desiree still played an active part in Kyron’s life.
As Kyron was doing a full-time job in his company, it was tough for him to take care of his baby, and Terri Moulton came into the picture.
Terri Moulton was a substitute teacher from Roseburg, Oregon. She had a son from a previous marriage and knew Kaine before he divorced Desiree.
She and Kaine started developing a romantic relationship which ended in their marriage in 2007. After their marriage, Terri brought her son to live with them. So, the family of four started living happily.
After one year of their marriage, The couple was blessed with a beautiful daughter.
Kyron Horman Disappearance
On June 4, 2010, Kyron was taken to school by Terri, his stepmother. His step Mother then stayed with him during his science fair, and according to her, she said goodbye to him when he went to his class around 8:45 a.m.
The strange thing is that he did not go to his first class and was marked absent in his class.
Her stepmother Terri told the Police that after leaving his school, she went to two different Fred Meyer grocery stores to pick up medicines for her daughter till 10:10 a.m. and then 11:39 a.m. she said that,
she was driving her daughter around town because her two years old daughter had an earache and running car was soothing her pain.
After this, she said that she went to her gym for some routine workout from 12.40 p.m. to 1:21 p.m. When she arrived home, she posted her stepson’s science fair pictures on Facebook.
Then after 2 p.m., her husband arrived home, and at 3:30 p.m., they both walked to the bus station to pick their son up, but he was not on the bus.
So, they both went to school, where the secretary told them that he was marked absent by his school teacher because he was not in the class. That’s when the school staff calls 911 and reports him missing.
Police Investigation
When you look around the school, you will find an extensive forest filled with wild animals where the Police start their initial search.
The search efforts of Police for Kyron were mainly focused on a 2-mile (3.2 km) radius around his school, Skyline Elementary, and on Sauvie Island, which was approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) away from the school.
The Police did not explain why they wanted to cover such an extensive area for search.
When the media tried to get the family statement, they refused initially, but after 5 days of their son’s disappearance, they finally released the statement to the press. They said,
Kyron’s family would like to thank people for support and interest in finding their son. The outpouring of support and continued effort strengthens their hope. We need for folks to continue to assist us in our goal. Please search your properties — cars, out buildings, sheds, etc. Also check with neighbors and friends who may be on vacation or may need in assistance in searching. There are a lot of resources here to help you search, so please don’t stop. It is obviously a difficult time and they want to speak to the public so you can hear it from Kyron’s family as they come together to share their message. Their objective is to keep the focus on Kyron and not about anything else.
Then on June 12, roughly 300 trained rescuers searched the forests around the school to find any trace of mission Kyron but still no luck.
This search was the most extensive search conducted in the history of Oregon, and 1300 searchers from Washington and California also came to join the search for the Kyron.
The tension and desperation of his parents increased with each passing day, and in the late June of 2010, his parents posted a reward of 25000$ in exchange for information about their son.
Kyron Step Mother Wanted To kill Her Husband
The disappearance case took a significant turn in late June 2010, when the investigator told Kaine Horman that his wife Terri wanted to hire a hitman to kill him. According to the investigator, his wife offered their landscaper, Rodolfo Sanchez, “a lot of money” to kill him.
The landscaper Sanchez testified that Terri came to him for help, and this all planning happened 5 months before Kyron’s disappearance(creepy).
Now another pandora box was opened, and the proper investigation against Kyron’s stepmother started. When Terri’s lawyer Stephen Houze asked the landscaper that Terri asked him in person to kill her husband, he said no.
Then the investigator asked Sanchez to record Terri while wearing a wire, but again they failed to obtain any proof against Terri and did not make an arrest.
So, after this whole mess, Kaine decided to leave his wife and filed for divorce on June 28. He also got a restraining order against his wife, Terri. The government granted the divorce, and Terri was finally granted visitation with her daughter.
Terri Failed Polygraph Tests
Terri became the prime suspect of the Kyron case when she failed two different polygraph examinations about Kyron’s disappearance.
Moreover, two witnesses came forward and said they saw Kyron with his mother outside Skyline Elementary the day of Kyron’s disappearance.
Bruce McCain, a retired sheriff for the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, said:
The identity of that second person, if he or she existed, could be critical in determining what happened to Kyron after 9 a.m. on June 4.
Police Investigation From Terri Horman Friends
In July 2010, a Multnomah County grand jury subpoenaed friends of Terri Horman, including DeDe Spicher, because Kaine (father of Kyton) said that his wife Terri has been in close communication with Spicher and providing Terri with support and advice that is not in the best interests of our son.
However, the Police found Spicher extremely cooperative with the investigation. She even allowed the Police to search her property and car. She also answered all the questions confidently during a three-hour-long session with the detective.
But why she was questioned by the Police?
According to the reports, Spicher suddenly left her work in Northwest Portland around 11:30 a.m on the day of Kyron’s disappearance and returned to her work around 90 minutes later. The Police also thought she helped her friend Terri purchase an untraceable cell phone.
When Journalist approached Spicher and asked her side of the story, she told journalists: “There’s this horror that my friend is going through. If I thought for a second that she was capable of [foul play], I would not have been there. She would not have been my friend in the first place.”
Lawsuit Of Desiree Young Against Terri Horman
On June 1, 2012, Kyron’s biological mother, Desiree Young, filed a lawsuit against Kyron’s stepmother Terri. In her lawsuit, she claimed that Terri was “responsible for the disappearance of Kyron.”
The lawsuit attempted to prove that Kyron’s stepmother had kidnapped Kyron, and she knew what had happened to him.Desiree Young demanded $10 million in harm from Horman.
Furthermore, on August 15, 2012, the court judge rejected a request by Terri to postpone the lawsuit.
During the court hearing of Young’s lawsuit at the start of October 2012, the court also summoned Spicher, but she denied answering any of the 142 questions asked by the lawyer, which raised the eyebrows of the people sitting in the court.
The questions were simple, like where she was on June 4, 2010, and her connection with Terri that day. She also refused to recognize a picture of Kyron, which was strange, and she also refused to share her thoughts about Kyron’s father.
On July 30, 2013, it was reported that Young had dropped her lawsuit against Terri because she didn’t want to interfere in the ongoing police investigation.
Kyron Horman On Dr. Phil
In 2016 Kyorn’s stepmother was invited to Dr. Phill’s show to talk about the accusation of Kidnapping Kyron. In this show, she opened up about the mental trauma she was going through because of this case.
She said,
I was advised from the beginning by law enforcement, by my husband at the time, by attorneys, in the beginning, not to say anything. I’ve always wanted to. I’ve asked multiple times to speak out and have not been allowed.
Terri further said,
There was a man in a white pickup truck, Ford, parked on Highway 30 at the 7-Eleven, which is not near the school. He was acting very strangely, and he was addressed by one of the employees because he had been pacing back and forth in front of the 7-Eleven for about an hour.
In the end she also said,
Fact is, I don’t know where he is, I don’t know who has him, I do not know if he’s alive, if he’s being held captive.

New York Times author Rebecca Morris published the book about Kyron’s disappearance case under the name of “Boy Missing: The Search for Kyron Horman,”
In this book, she wrote about all the aspects of this case in detail. She also published interviews of Kyron’s mother, father, and all the people who were, directly and indirectly, involved in this case.
