Diane Keaton Career

In the late 1960s, Diane Keaton established herself in the Broadway community and gained recognition for her performance in “Play It Again, Sam,” which earned her a Tony Award nomination. She made her film debut in “Lovers and Other Strangers” and played various roles in television and commercials.

However, in 1972, Keaton appeared in “The Godfather,” playing the love interest of Al Pacino’s character, when she experienced her breakthrough.

Her distinctive style brought a fresh perspective to the character, and the film became both a financial and critical success, winning Best Picture at the Oscars that year.

Keaton then continued to work with Woody Allen on several projects, including “Sleeper,” “Love and Death,” and “Play It Again, Sam.”

Diane Keaton Career Earnings

Diane Keaton’s most significant achievement came in 1977 when she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Allen’s “Annie Hall.” She later ended her working relationship with Allen after “Manhattan.”

In the 1980s, Keaton appeared in numerous films, including the commercial failure “The Little Drummer Girl.”

However, she transitioned to more mature roles in the 1990s with films such as “The Godfather Part III” and “The Manhattan Murder Mystery.”

She also made her directorial debut with “Unstrung Heroes.” One of her most successful films was “The First Wives Club,” which grossed $105 million at the box office in 1996.

In 2001, Keaton’s career suffered a setback with the box office flop “Town & Country,” which had a budget of $90 million and only earned $7 million. She bounced back with “Something’s Gotta Give” in 2003, co-starring with Jack Nicholson.

Keaton also appeared in various roles throughout the 2010s, including voice acting in the billion-dollar-grossing “Finding Dory” in 2016.

Her most recent appearance on the big screen was in “Book Club” in 2018, which was also successful at the box office.

Diane Keaton Real Estate

Diane Keaton, the famed actress, has owned multiple properties in Los Angeles, such as a Spanish Colonial Revival in Beverly Hills and a Lloyd Wright-designed home on Sunset Boulevard in the Pacific Palisades.

The Lloyd Wright-designed home was initially created for Alfred Newman, an Oscar-winning musician, and later renovated by Keaton, known for her remarkable restoration work.

The property spans 2.61 acres and comprises a main house, two detached master suites, 5 bedrooms, and 3.5 bathrooms.

The house includes original parquet floors, four wood-burning fireplaces, and several built-ins. The main suite features walls of glass, giving it a loft-like feel. The backyard features a swimming pool surrounded by sycamore and oak trees.

Diane Keaton Business

Keaton has had a business of buying and remodeling mansions, selling them for huge profits. Madonna bought a property from her for $6.5 million, while Ryan Murphy, a TV screenwriter, also purchased one of her homes.

In 2002, Keaton purchased a Bel Air mansion with a significant Hollywood history, which she sold in 2005 for $16.5 million after extensive renovation.

She bought a property in Laguna Beach for $7.5 million in 2004 and remodeled it with great attention to detail.

However, when the property failed to sell for $12.75 million in 2006, she relisted it at almost $16 million in 2015.

In 2007, she bought a 100-year-old mansion in Beverly Hills for $8.1 million, which she sold to Ryan Murphy for $10 million in 2010.

In 2012, Keaton purchased a nearly 8,000-square-foot home in LA’s Pacific Palisades for $5.6 million, selling it in 2016 for $6.9 million.

In 2018, she acquired a property in Tucson, Arizona, for $1.5 million and renovated it before relisting it for $2.6 million in 2020.

The 4,500-square-foot property was built in 1900 and underwent several updates before Keaton purchased it. It features exposed wooden beams and many original 19th-century construction features.
