Nearly after a whole year of the novel Covid-19 breakthrough that took 11,746 lives and almost a million infected from the disease, the Pakistan government has finally started vaccination for it. They started with a 50-year-old doctor, Professor Dr. Rana Imran Sikander, in the Prime Minister’s office.
Now the hope for a countrywide campaign has arisen, and it will start shortly. Nearly one million health workers will be vaccinated in two months. During the first vaccination, Prime Minister Imran Khan was pleased; he congratulated his team and thanked China for providing the vaccine. Now the frontline health workers of Covid-19 will be vaccinated in the first phase. In the second phase, people suffering from the virus above 65 years will be vaccinated. Prof Dr. Rana Imran Sikander, the first vaccinated person, has shown no complications to the vaccine. Although Pakistan has got the vaccine, there is still a need for safety measures, and SOPs, schools, universities, and all other institutes have been opened. Cases are decreasing day by day; we can save our country and people from the virus just by some precautions and by using facemasks, added Prime Minister.
