The thing is, we are so used to American movies and American songs/albums. Everything thing is just about the USA.
Often, while listening to the American singers, we forget that there is more to music than this, just like the Mexican singers that I’m listing here.
And I kid you not; there is something great about Mexican music and Mexican singers. One of the many reasons can be the wide variety of cultures and communities living in Mexico.
Many of the Mexican singers listed here sing both in the Spanish and English languages. Thalía is among the best Mexican artists out there.
No wonder why she is known as the “Queen Of Latin Pop” by the masses. One thing that separates Thalía from many singers around the world is that she is multilingual.
Let’s know more about her and many other great Mexican singers,

Thalía
I’ll make a good start with one of the most influential and greatest Mexican singers, Thalía, whose real name is Ariadna Thalía Sodi Miranda Mottola.
Her birthday falls on the 26th of August, and her birth year is 1971. She was born in Mexico City, Mexico. She is around 50 years old.
Earlier, I mentioned that she is multilingual because she knows multiple languages, or at least sings in them.
Those languages are Tagalog (the national language of the Philipines), English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
She was born into a pretty well-off family, as her mom was a manager and her dad was a scientist, writer, and, yes, detective.
Her first appearance on TV was when she was just one year old. Her folks were determined to make her a singer when she came of age.
They began acting on their decision pretty quickly, as they used to make her take music classes and lessons, and at that time, her age was four.
After two years, at the age of six, her dad, who had diabetes for a long time, died. This event traumatized her a lot.
Her trauma led her to be identified with CDD (Childhood Disintegrative Disorder). She could speak, let alone sing a whole year.
To cope with that, she had to see many psychiatrists after being diagnosed. Whether those therapies helped her or not, it is difficult to say.
Because the death of her dad invited a lot of bullying to this Mexican singer’s life, she had to deal with all this while growing up. Today, she holds dual nationalities (American and Mexican).
At the age of ten, she officially became a singer, but it took her nine years to release her 1st studio album, “Thalía,” in 1990.
Until now, she has given out eighteen studio albums, and among many of her famous songs, “Entre El Mar Y Una Estrella” is her best one.

This Mexican singer’s complete name is Maite Perroni Beorlegui. She is 39 years old. Her birth date is the 9th of March 1983, and she belongs to Mexico City, Mexico.
While it is true that her birthplace is Mexico City, she spent most of her early life in Guadalajara, Mexico. She is among the top Mexican singers of modern times.
She was into this acting and singing from a young age, as she used to act in several TV ads. In school, she used to participate in almost all of the extracurricular activities.
Maite picked up the pace while growing up and was determined to become a singer. She was also featured in the “100 Most Beautiful Faces 2016.”
Perroni had been on this list for five consecutive years, and what makes her unique is that she was the first Mexican to be featured like this.
This Mexican singer is also an activist and is strongly against child labor. She is also a member of PADF. She is bilingual (she knows two languages: Spanish and English).
She joined the Mexican music industry in 2004, and nine years later, “Eclipse de Luna” came out in 2013. “Adicta” is one of her best songs.

Gloria Trevi
Gloria de los Ángeles Treviño Ruiz is her birth name. She was born on the 15th of February 1968 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico.
She is 54 years old. However, she was born in Monterrey, but things weren’t working in favor of her in her hometown.
For that reason, she had to go to Mexico City. In the USA, Mississippi is known to be the birthplace of American music. Mexico City has the same reputation in Mexico as Mississippi has in the U.S.
During her career, she has worked with three labels: Sony Ariola (Sony Music Entertainment), Univision Music Group, and Universal Music Group.
She has broken ties with the first two labels and is currently working with Universal Music Group. She is often referred to as the the “Madonna Of Mexico.”
Trevi began doing this in 1985, and after four years, she gave her 1st album, “¿Qué Hago Aquí?” in 1989. “Tu Ángel de la Guarda” was her second album.
“Me Siento Tan Sola” was her third and “Más Turbada Que Nunca” was her fourth studio album. Among many, “Dr. Psiquiatra” is her favorite and best song.

Alejandro Fernández
Alejandro is also a talented Mexican singer who has been doing for more than four decades (since 1981). He is 50 years old.
His birth date is the 24th of April 1971, and his birthplace is Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. His parents named him Alejandro Fernández Abarca.
Music has been like the property of this family, as his dad was also a great singer. Any guesses who this Mexican singer might be? None other than Vicente Fernández.
He used to attend many live events with his dad, and most probably, he developed his interest in music during those times.
I am using the word “developed” because he didn’t always like singing. In fact, his real interest and inclination were towards architecture.
But his dad, who was himself a singer, insisted that he also become one. Once, professional kidnappers abducted Alejandro’s elder brother and asked for a huge ransom.
They even cut off his finger as proof. To prevent things from escalating into something worse and lethal, Alejandro’s dad paid the money (ransom).
Anyways, as a result of his dad’s efforts, he finally joined the industry as a Mexican singer in 1981, and after eleven years, in 1992, he released his 1st album, “Alejandro Fernandez.”
“Piel de Niña” “Grandes Éxitos a la Manera de Alejandro Fernández” are his 2nd and 3rd studio albums, which were released in 1993 and 1994, respectively.
“Me Dediqué a Perderte” is among his top and best songs.

Alfonso Herrera

He is 38 years old. Initially, he wasn’t much into this singing thing and loved to fly. I mean, he had an interest in aviation/planes.
He let his parents know about his desire to become a pilot, and his folks supported him in this decision. Not only did he want to become a pilot, but he also wanted to move to the U.S. state of Texas.
But his destiny took a turn, and he began having second thoughts about this decision and eventually changed his mind.
In 2001, he joined the Mexican music industry as a singer. He was 18 years old at the time. By working with the famous Latin group “RBD,” he released his 1st album, “Rebelde,” on the 30th of November 2004.

Luis Miguel
This Mexican singer was born on the 19th of April 1970 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is 52 years old. He has Spanish and Italian ancestry.
Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri is his complete name. When he was little, his mom used to call him “Mi Sol,” which means “My Sun.”
When he was reaching the heights of fame, his fans gave him the ALIAS, “El Sol de México,” which means “The Sun Of Mexico.”
Both his mom and dad were in the Mexican entertainment industry, as his dad was a singer and his mom was an actress.
This means Luis is of European descent. There’s a saying – wait, there isn’t a saying, it is my thinking that sometimes the thing that we are hating right now will be something we’ll love in the future.
I know I’m messing up the words here; let’s use simple words, alright? When Miguel was a kid, his dad used to push him to his limits often.
As I’ve mentioned above, his dad was also a great singer, so it is easy to understand why he used to do that, but, unsurprisingly, Luis hated it.
He hated the discipline; he hated the strictness; he hated every moment of it, apparently, and, if I’m being honest, what Luis did is what any normal kid would do.
But now, as he recalls all those moments on screens, he accepts that the discipline his dad was so strict about was the thing that shaped his career.
Had it not been like this, he doesn’t know how he would’ve achieved all this. Wait! Did I tell you that his dad was also his manager?
With the passage of time, this Mexican singer kept climbing the steps of success. Once came a time when Luis was going through the worst financial crisis of his career and probably, his life.
And he blamed his dad for all this; eventually, he fired his dad (manager), who later died as a result of his drinking habit, and, needless to say, depression.
This Mexican singer came into the music industry in 1981, and just after a year, he released his 1st album, “Un sol,” in 1982.
In the same year, in 1982, he also gave out his second album, “Directo al corazón.” “Ya nunca más” was his third, coming out in 1983, and “Decídete” was his 4th album, coming out in 1983.
“Ahora te puedes marchar” is among the best songs released by this Mexican singer.
