Stanley Wilson Career
Wilson played with the Detroit Lions from 2005 to 2007 after being selected by them in the third round (72nd overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft.
He participated in 32 games (nine of which he started), made 86 tackles (63 of them solo), deflected eight passes, and caused one turnover during his stint in the NFL.
Wilson’s professional football career was regrettably cut short by a knee injury, and on November 28, 2007, he was placed on injured reserve.
The Lions re-signed Wilson to a one-year deal on April 11, 2008. However, Wilson tore his Achilles tendon on August 7 during a practice match against the New York Giants, which was later determined to be a season-ending injury.
In Portland, Oregon, on June 22, 2016, Wilson was shot by an elderly homeowner after attempting to break into his house while unclothed.
He was charged with attempted burglary even though he was hospitalized for his injuries and made a full recovery. Wilson tested positive for methamphetamines in November 2016.
On January 10, 2017, he was detained in Portland again after being found strolling around naked in another neighborhood and acting drugs.
He was accused of attempting to break in. Wilson received a sentence for the incident from June of 10 days in jail and three years of probation on February 13, 2017.
Wilson was, however, detained for the third time while unclothed on February 18, 2017, apparently trying to break into a different house.
