Biden’s meeting with House Democrats

President Joe Biden met top House Democrats who want to add his $1.9 trillion Coronavirus relief package to becoming law.

He said, “We can’t do too much here, we can do too little,” also added “Real, live people are hurting. And we can fix it. And we can fix it and the irony of all ironies is when we help them, we are also helping our competitive capacity, through the remainder of this decade.” President Biden praised Obama’s work and said lessons from his time were guiding the Covid-19 relief efforts.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, “Our aim to crush the virus and provide relief to the public of America is urgent and is of the highest priority”. Although the Senate’s work is slower than it should be because of the trial of previous President Donald Trump nut she was hopeful that the budget will pass shortly and people will be benefited very soon.

Concerns about the education budget were also reported, a group of 10 Republicans questioned the fund for education. While Republicans also said, “We are eager to crush this virus and in this regard want to work with President.”

The question to increase the minimum wage was also raised and many of the democrats were in favor to increase the minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour while one Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin opposed it.
Biden also met with lawmakers to discuss the package.
