Katy Perry will serve at King Charles III’s coronation show on May 7. The “American Idol” judge voiced her appreciation for the opportunity during a consultation with Access Hollywood. He said,
“I’m so grateful to be asked for these moments, and I think I have the songs to support them. At the stop of the day, it’s all about the vocals.”
The “Firework” singer also said she acts as a representative for one of the royal foundations, The British Asian Trust.
Perry explained that her involvement with the foundation that combats child trafficking, a massive and horrible issue, is natural for her.
She added that being an ambassador for UNICEF aligns with her core values. As a mother, she understands the importance of protecting innocent children.
Perry stated that her purpose in attending the event is to represent herself as an ambassador and to bring light and love. The coronation concert lineup contains Perry, Andrea Bocelli, and Lionel Richie.

Access Hollywood shared that Luke Bryan, a country music star and fellow “American Idol” judge, was disappointed he didn’t receive an invitation to King Charles’ big weekend.
“They’re not allowing me in on any mysteries because they understand of my level of jealousy,” Bryan stated. Charles and his spouse, Camilla, will be crowned on Saturday, May 6.
