Sweetie Pie Star Tim Norman Receives Life Sentence for Nephew’s Execution Plot
James “Tim” Norman, former star of the reality TV show “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s,” has been sentenced to life in prison for arranging the murder of his nephew to collect a life insurance payment. Norman did not speak at his sentencing hearing and was given two life sentences by the U.S.
District Judge John A. Ross. The murder of Andre Montgomery Jr. occurred in March 2016 and was arranged by Norman, who took out a life insurance policy worth $450,000 on his nephew.
Several victims’ family members asked for Norman to receive a life sentence. Norman was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud.
His mother, Robbie Montgomery, founder of the Sweetie Pie’s restaurants, submitted a letter asking for leniency but closed her Upper Crust location after Norman was convicted. Three other individuals were also sentenced in connection with the murder.
